The UCT Trust & Board of Trustees

The University of Cape Town Trust (or UCTT for short) is a UK registered charity (No. 803042) and its goal is to build support for the University of Cape Town across the United Kingdom and Europe. Established in London in 1991 by UCT former Vice-Chancellor Dr Stuart Saunders, the Trust has raised over £23 million in the UK for projects at UCT.

UCTT aims to help the University of Cape Town build on its role as a world-class university in Africa – the leading research institution on the continent – producing well-trained graduates to spearhead South Africa’s economic and social transformation.

UCTT fosters and develops relations with UCT’s alumni who are based in the UK through events and communications aiming to keep alumni informed about the wide-ranging academic research, outreach work and student support initiatives being delivered at the University.

UCTT also leads on fundraising appeals for the UK alumni community to encourage individuals and organisations to make financial donations to their alma mater, which when made via UCTT can benefit from Gift Aid.
