Dr Paula Walter
Paula joined the UCT UK Board of Trustees in 2021. She has a strong interest in education, and currently serves as Director for the German School London and as a member of Council for the Royal College of Music. She has spent over two decades working in Technology, Digital, Data and Information Security within the Financial Services industry, holding multiple roles at Goldman Sachs. Leadership roles include Chief Technology Officer at Newton Investment Management, Chief Operating Officer at Ruffer LLP and Chief Technology and Information Officer at Aldermore Group, part of First Rand Group.
Paula received a BA(Hons) in Linguistics and BSc(Hons) in Mathematics from the University of Cape Town, and an MPhil and DPhil in Linguistics from the University of Oxford, where she held a Commonwealth Scholarship at Christ Church. She completed the Advanced Management Programme at IESE Business School.
Paula’s father was an Emeritus Professor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor at UCT, and her brother is currently a Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at UCT.
